SYMPTOMS

When you are installing Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) in a clustered Microsoft SQL Server environment, an error message states that SQL Server is not running and the installation will not proceed.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because installation of MOM in a clustered environment is not supported.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
