Repair Setup Does Not Repair Outlook Mobile Access for Exchange Server 5.5 Files and Virtual Roots (297417)

When you run the installation of Mobile Information Server, and then click the Repair option, the entire installation is not repaired. Outlook Mobile Access for Exchange Server 5.5 files and the default Internet Information Server (IIS) virtual roots \OMA, \OMA55, \MMISNotify, and \MMISDeviceInfo are not replaced if they are missing.
WORKAROUND
If the Mobile Information Server installation has been damaged, it is recommended that you completely remove and reinstall Mobile Information Server. To reinstall Mobile Information Server:
- Perform a complete backup of the Mobile Information Server server including system state.
- Perform a complete backup of your Active Directory database.
- Run Setup.exe from the Mobile Information Server installation point.
- When the Installation Wizard is displayed, click Next.
- Click Remove, and then click Next.
- Click Remove to begin the removal process.
- If you are prompted about wireless users receiving non-delivery reports (NDRs), click Yes.
- Click Finish to exit the Installation Wizard.
- Check to see if the MSMQ queues for Mobile Information Server were removed. If not, use the procedure described in the following Knowledge Base article to remove the MSMQ queues:

- Reinstall Mobile Information Server using the standard Setup procedure.
- Verify that Browse and Push functionality have not been affected.
