System Monitor Physical Disk Counter Does Not Show New Dynamic Volumes (297408)

When you are monitoring the Physical Disk or Logical Disk counter with System Monitor, new disk volumes may not appear correctly if you have not restarted the computer since creating the volumes.
Additionally, System Monitor does not display logical drive letters after you apply Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2).
CAUSE
New disks volumes are not bound by Disk Manager until a reboot occurs, so Perfdisk does not detect them until you reboot the computer.
