Microsoft Money models tax rates by using five tax brackets. The tax plan proposed by President Bush offers four tax brackets. This article explains how you can use the tax rates and brackets under the Bush plan in Money.

To change the number of brackets in Money, use the Custom option for the rates. To edit the custom brackets, follow these steps:
  1. Money 2001

    On the Money navigation bar, click Investing, and then click Capital Gains Estimator.

    Money 2000

    On the Money navigation bar, click Investing. Under Portfolio Tasks, click Estimate Capital Gains.
  2. In the left pane, under Common Tasks, click Set tax rate.
  3. In the Show rates for filing status list, click Custom.
  4. Enter the income and tax rates provided under the Bush tax plan.
  5. Click Done.
