SYMPTOMS

If your regional settings are configured to use a comma as the decimal separator (for example, in the German regional settings), filtering by selection on a Decimal field may generate the following error message when you link to an Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) table that includes a Decimal field:

ODBC Call failed: Incorrect Syntax near "," (#170).

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Jet 4.0. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.
