BUG: VPN (PPTP) Connectoid Only Supports One Server Name/Address (297327)

SYMPTOMS

Attempts to establish a virtual private networking (VPN) point-to-point tunneling protocol (PPTP) connection fail and the error "ERROR_NO_CARRIER" is returned.

CAUSE

The system cycles through all addresses, sometimes finishing on one that doesn't work. It should use the first good address.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, only specify one server name/address for the VPN connectoid.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in Platform Builder Windows CE 3.0 with the Add On Pack.
