SYMPTOMS

If you installed a beta version of SQL Server 2000 SP1 or Office XP, you may see a different error message:

If you install Analysis Services 2000 RTM after you install Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2), you will experience the same problem. You may also receive this error message:

CAUSE

The Analysis Services installation overwrites the newer version of Msolap80.dll and Msdmine.dll from SQL Server 2000 SP1 or Office XP with an older version (8.0.194), which causes Msolap80.dll, Msdmine.dll, and Msolap80.rll, Msdmine.rll to be out of synchronization.
