receive the following error message near the end of the installation of the System Files Update:

When you click OK, the following error message appears:
Error 2755. An internal error has occurred.

CAUSE
When you use the ! logging option and there is no fatal error during the
installation, the Windows Installer creates a RunOnce registry key with invalid characters.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, run Setup without the ! logging option. For example, use a command line similar to the following:
e:\setup.exe /L*V C:\verbose.txt
It is not necessary to use the ! logging option if you are installing Office on a computer that does not stop responding (hang) during installation.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
