STOP 0xA Error Message Appears When You Use an ACPI Device Driver (296974)

When you install a device driver for a device that is supposed to be Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) compliant, you may receive a STOP error message after a period of time.
For example, if you install a thermal monitor driver for your motherboard but the thermal monitor system device is not fully ACPI-compliant, you may receive a STOP 0x0000000A error message.
CAUSE
This problem can occur because the ACPI embedded controller driver (Acpiec.sys) can call the device driver multiple times. These calls can generate a STOP error message if the device itself is not fully ACPI-compliant.
