XCCC: Internet Information Services Filter Path Is Affected When You Modify the Internet Services Manager Root Folder (296910)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Mobile Information 2001 Server

This article was previously published under Q296910

SYMPTOMS

When you modify the Internet Information Services (IIS) root folder and the changes are applied, this procedure can affect the paths to the IIS filters, the Httpconext.dll and Dmiflt.dll files, in Microsoft Mobile Information Server.

CAUSE

This problem can occur because you must use 8.3 formatting to define the paths, and if you apply changes that include spaces, this procedure can cause IIS to not include the .dll files.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, if you use Mobile Information Server, make sure that you click No at the prompt to apply changes to folders in IIS.

If you click Yes, you must view the MMISNotify and Microsoft Outlook Mobile Access virtual root folders in Microsoft Windows 2000 Internet Services Manager, and then reselect the .dll files to be added to those virtual root folders. To do so, click Browse.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
