Windows Me Restarts Automatically from Hibernation (296883)

SYMPTOMS

If a computer that conforms to the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) specification enters hibernation after suspend by a timer setting from the Power Management tool in Control Panel, Windows Millennium Edition (Me) may restart.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
