SYMPTOMS

On all Windows 2000-based servers, License Logging Service (LLS) does unnecessary Active Directory Services Interface (ADSI) searches against the Site License Server.

Each server in the site performs the ADSI Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) search against the Site License Server approximately every 15 minutes. These searches cause unnecessary traffic on the network and unnecessary work for the Site License Server. Only domain controllers and member servers that have no domain controller in their site need to do the search.
