SYMPTOMS

When you try to participate in a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server conference as a phone user, Exchange Server may not be able to bridge the audio streams.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.

The Wave Message Security Protocol (MSP) is installed with Windows 2000. To allow phone users to participate in Exchange conferences, Exchange 2000 Server must establish a bridge between the Wave MSP call (modem call, telephony board call) and the IP multicast call. Exchange Server needs the Wave MSP to support the bridging terminal for the audio streams.
