SYMPTOMS

Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC) supports two-phase commit protocol. If the network connection is interrupted when MS DTC is in the first phase state of a Transaction Internet Protocol (TIP) transaction, MS DTC stops responding (crashes). In addition, the following event is logged:
MS DTC TIP Gateway illegal transition.
