Automatic Logon for the 16-Bit Terminal Services Client Does Not Work (296544)

When you try to use the 16-bit Terminal Services client to connect to a terminal server and your connection has been configured to log on automatically, automatic logon may not work, and you may be denied access to the server. Note that this may occur even though you previously cleared the Always prompt for password check box. This symptom does not occur if you log on manually.
CAUSE
This problem can occur if the password is incorrectly transmitted to the server for automatic logon.

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, log on manually, or use the client that is included with Windows 2000.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 3.
