E-mail Messages for Alerts Are Poorly Formatted and Need a Fixed-Width Font (296540)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Operations Manager 2000
This article was previously published under Q296540 SYMPTOMS
When you view alert-response e-mail messages that contain columns, the text formatting may appear skewed and the columns may not line up accurately.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the text formatting for both the e-mail client and the Operations Manager modules uses proportionally-spaced fonts by default.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, change the font that is used for alerts from a proportionally-spaced font to a fixed-width font. To make this change, select the text of the message, and then choose the Courier Fixed Width font instead of the default font. Alternatively, you can set the default font option for plain text messages in your Microsoft Exchange client to a fixed-width font.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
