SYMPTOMS

After you set up Commerce Server using a Microsoft Terminal Server client, the Commerce Server Manager snap-in fails to initialize. The following error message is displayed when you attempt to access the Commerce Server Manager:
Snap-in failed to initialize. Name: Commerce Server Manager, CLSID: {1503ab2b-6945-11d2-aff4-00c04f867oe4}

RESOLUTION

To access the Commerce Server Manager, you must restart Commerce Server after you install Commerce Server through a Terminal Server client.

The Commerce Server Manager snap-in only fails when you attempt to access the Commerce Server Manager through Microsoft Terminal Server.

In Commerce Server 2002, you receive the following message at the end of a successful installation:
You must restart your system for the configuration changes made to Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 ..... Edition to take effect

Click Yes to restart now or No if you plan to manually restart later.
If you do not restart the system, you receive the error message that is described in the "Symptoms" section.
