You Cannot Open Help for an Item in the Print Dialog Box (296346)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to open Help for an item in the Print dialog box, the Help window does not open for that item, or the Print dialog box closes.

CAUSE

This problem occurs in the following situations:
  • You attempt to open Help for an item in the Find dialog box. For example, you right-click an item, and then you click What's this.
  • You right-click the information that appears in the Help window, and then you click Print Topic.
  • You attempt to open Help for an item in the Print dialog box. For example, you right-click an item, and then you click What's this.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, and to open Help for an item in the Print dialog box:
  1. In the Print dialog box, click Cancel.
  2. Click anywhere in the Help window to close it.
  3. Close the Find dialog box.
  4. On the File menu, click Print.
  5. In the Print dialog box, right-click any item, and then click What's this.
