Commerce Server Manager Login Retries Setting Has No Effect (296343)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Commerce Server, you can set the Commerce Server Authentication site name - Login Retries value to limit the number of failed login retries. When you set this value, a user can still log in even after many failed login attempts, as long as they eventually enter the correct user name and password.

CAUSE

This setting is only effective for a Commerce site that uses Windows Authentication.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
