When you attempt to sign up for a new Internet account by using the Internet Connection Wizard in Internet Explorer 6, the wizard may not connect to the Microsoft Internet Referral Service as expected.
As a result, you are unable to obtain a list of Internet service providers (ISPs).
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you use the Internet Connection Wizard on a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0-based computer.
The Internet Connection Wizard is unable to establish a dial-up connection to the Internet Referral Service on a Windows NT 4.0-based computer.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
