BUG: List Manager Service Is Not Cluster Aware (296310)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Commerce Server 2002
- Microsoft Commerce Server 2000
This article was previously published under Q296310 SYMPTOMS
When Commerce Server 2000 is configured in a Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) cluster, if the List Manager service fails over to a second computer, the list import operation that is in process is not restarted on the new server.
CAUSE
The List Manager service in Commerce Server 2000 is not cluster aware. Thus, the service does not know that it has failed over and needs to restart the list import operation. List import operations that were in process on the first server must be manually restarted on the secondary server after the fail over has occurred.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Commerce Server 2000. MORE INFORMATION
The Commerce Server 2000 List Manager Service can be failed over to a secondary computer in an MSCS cluster if it is configured as a "generic service" type.
