When you log on to your computer as a guest, you can delete the Uninstall Information folder that contains the backup information that is required to remove Internet Explorer.
CAUSE
This problem can occur if:
- The computer has Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000 installed.
- The guest account is enabled, and:
- The Uninstall Information folder is located on a Fat or a Fat32 partition.
-or- - The Uninstall Information folder is located on an NTFS partition and the guest account has been granted write permissions for the folder.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, do not enable the guest account on the Windows 2000 or Windows NT-based computer.

The guest account is disabled by default on all Windows 2000 Server and Professional installations. It is recommended to leave the guest account disabled.
