This article describes how to update Microsoft Office 97 with the SR-1 and SR-2 patches by using quiet mode. In quiet mode, the licensing agreement and the Product ID dialog boxes do not appear.

To install the patches in quiet mode, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type the command line for the operation that you want to perform, and then press ENTER:
    • To install the SR-1 patch, type the following:

      pathpath\sr1off97.exe /q /c:"sr1off97.exe /q /r:n"

    • To install the SR-2 patch, type the following:

      path\off97sr2.exe /q /c:"sr2patch.exe /q"

    • To completely install Office SR-2, type the following:

      path\off97pro.sr2\setup.exe /l custom.lst /b/q /gc c:\off.log
