Consolidator Reports "Service Unavailable" Immediately After Installation (296044)

After you install Operations Manager and start the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), when you click Monitor and then click All Computers, the Severity column may report that there is a "service unavailable" on the Consolidator computer. The following error message informs you that an alert has been logged:
The Consolidator was unable to retrieve data from the EventSource table while attempting to prepare an event's data for insertion into the database. Will retry every 30 seconds.

If you double-click Service Unavailable, a new window displays the exact time that this error occurred, which is either during or immediately after installation.
The alert message about IDispatch error #3222 continues to appear until the alert is marked as resolved and the screen is updated.
