Attempt to Import Management Pack Module Does Not Work (296043)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to import a Management Pack module, the import may not succeed.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the Management Pack module contains a Processing Rule Group (PRG) that is associated with a Computer Rule whose exact name already exists in the database.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, rename the existing Computer Rule.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
