Error Message Appears After Long Delay While You Are Using ManagementModuleUtil.exe to Import a File (296018)

When you try to use the ManagementModuleUtil.exe command line utility to import a file, the following error message may appear after approximately 30 seconds:
abnormal program termination
The error message takes a long time to appear and provides no information to help you determine the cause of the error.
If you are using the MOM Microsoft Management Console (MMC) Administrator Console to perform the same operation, the MMC may return the following error message:
The specified Management Pack file cannot be opened. Check the path and try again.
Result code: 800406c9
CAUSE
This error occurs if the file name that you specify is incorrect. The 30-second delay occurs because the ManagementModuleUtil.exe utility is checking the database for any additional information to help the utility perform the file import.

ManagementModuleUtil.exe is a command line utility that comes with MOM. This utility, which allows you to import and export Processing Rule Groups, is located in the drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Operations Manager 2000\OnePoint\ directory, where drive is the drive where MOM is installed.
