No Notification When You Delete a Computer Group That Is Being Edited on Another Computer (295987)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Operations Manager 2000
This article was previously published under Q295987 SYMPTOMS
If you delete a Computer Group while someone else is editing the same Computer Group on another instance of the Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) Microsoft Management Console (MMC), you may not receive a warning about the deletion.
Deletion and editing both proceed normally, no errors are logged, and no warning message appears on either computer. When the person who is editing the Computer Group clicks OK to save the changes, the edited Computer Group shows up on the list of Computer Groups. However, after the list is updated, the list no longer includes the edited Computer Group.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, do not delete any Computer Group that might still be in use.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
