SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Metadirectory Services, when you run the Mail Application Programming Interface (MAPI) Exchange Management Agent (MA), and you click to select the Use Exchange Deltas to Update the Metadirectory check box, the deleted users may not be made obsolete. However, when the MA is run in Full mode, the deleted users are made obsolete, as expected.

This problem can occur if the Cdir.exe program is installed. Also, this problem only occurs if the deletion of a user is preceded by a Full discovery operation.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, periodically run the MA in either Full or Delta mode to ensure that deleted users are made obsolete.
