Cannot Add/Remove Central Components Individually from a Computer (295852)

SYMPTOMS

You may not be able to add or remove individual components of Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM), for example the Consolidator/Agent Manager (DCAM) or a database on a computer that already has MOM components installed.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs by design, to prevent configurations that might cause undesired operation of MOM.

WORKAROUND

As a workaround, to add or remove components, you must completely remove and then reinstall all MOM components on that computer.
