Changing Font Size Removes Color Customizations in Windows XP (295805)

SYMPTOMS

When you click Extra Large Fonts on the Appearance tab of the Display tool in Control Panel, all other advanced appearance customization is removed. When this occurs, extra large fonts are displayed, but custom colors, fonts, and so on, are removed.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because when you use extra large fonts, the authored system metrics are loaded, and this includes font sizes, colors, fonts, and so on.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
