Error Message: Explorer Has Caused an Error in Navshell.dll (295746)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Windows Millennium Edition (Me), you may receive the following error message randomly:
Explorer has caused an error in Navshell.dll. Explorer will now close. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you have Symantec Norton AntiVirus installed, and you use the Scan with Norton AntiVirus command.

WORKAROUND
