Error Message "The Dynamic Link Library Exchmem.dll Could Not Be Found" When You Use the Exmerge 6.0 Utility (295612)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use the Exmerge 6.0 utility located in the Upgrade\Exmerge\Version_6.0 folder in Small Business Server 2000 Setup Disc 1, you may receive the following error message:
The dynamic link library Exchmem.dll could not be found in the specified path....

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the Exchmem.dll file is missing from the \Upgrade\Exmerge\Version_6.0 folder on Small Business Server 2000 Setup Disc 1.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior:
  1. Copy all the files from the \Upgrade\Exmerge\Version_6.0 upgrade\ExMerge\Version_6.0 folder in Small Business Server 2000 Setup Disc 1 to a folder on the local hard disk.
  2. Copy the Exchmem.dll file from the \Exchsrvr60\Setup\I386\ folder in Small Business Server 2000 Setup Disc 3 to the same folder where the files from Step 1 had been copied.
  3. Run the Exmerge.exe program from the location where the files had been copied.
