Coordinator Permissions That Are Assigned to Global Groups Are Not Effective in the Snap-in (295568)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001

This article was previously published under Q295568

SYMPTOMS

When a global domain security group is assigned the coordinator role at the workspace level, members of that group are not recognized as coordinators when the members access the Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server Administration Console snap-in. Therefore, the workspace property pages are not available.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, add the individual accounts that are members of the global group to the coordinator role at the workspace level. Workspace level security is set in the SharePoint Portal Server Administration Console snap-in. To view the security properties of the workspace:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click SharePoint Portal Server Administration.
  2. Expand the server name, right-click the workspace that you want, and then click Properties.
  3. Click the Security tab.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
