IntelliType Pro 2: Hot Key Triggers "Shutdown Windows" Dialog Box Instead of "Logoff Windows" (295486)

SYMPTOMS

When you press a hot key (other than the actual LOGOFF hot key) on the Microsoft Office Keyboard that has been assigned the logoff function, the Shutdown Windows dialog box may be displayed instead of the expected Logoff Windows dialog box.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the following conditions are true:

You are using a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 (SP6)-based computer.

-and-Active Desktop is turned off.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, turn on Active Desktop.

To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Double-click My Computer.
  2. Click View, and then click Folder Options.
  3. On the General tab, click the Custom, based on settings you choose option.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Under Active Desktop, click the Enable all Web-related content on my desktop option.
  6. Click OK, and then click Close.
