SYMPTOMS

If you press the MAIL or CALENDAR hot keys on the Microsoft Office Keyboard multiple times, multiple instances of your e-mail client may be opened.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if your e-mail client is Microsoft Outlook 97 (all versions and releases). Outlook 97 does not have the ability to determine if another instance of Outlook is already open.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
