SYMPTOMS

When you press the WORD hot key on the Microsoft Office Keyboard, Microsoft Word may not start as expected.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if both of the following conditions are true:

You have Microsoft Office XP installed.

-and-

You are using Word 2002 as your e-mail editor in Microsoft Outlook 2002, and you have an e-mail message open.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, close the e-mail message, and then start Word 2002.
