RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, remove the program and reinstall it.
To do this, use the following methods in the order specified.
Remove the program
Before you complete this process, back up your data in the
Shoebox folder. The Shoebox folder may be in one of the following locations:
- Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\Shoebox
- Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Shoebox
- Documents and
Settings\username\Application
Data\Microsoft\Shoebox
Now remove the program. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Double-click the program that you want to
remove.
- Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to remove the
program.
Note Do not restart your computer if you are prompted to.

Microsoft scanned this file for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help to prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.
Download and run the Windows CleanUp Utility
Run the CleanUp utility to remove corrupted Installer
files. To do this, follow these steps:
- Download, install, and then run the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to remove the Windows Installer registry settings associated with your products installation.

- To use the Windows CleanUp utility, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Windows Installer Clean Up.
- Select the program that you want to remove, and then click Remove.
- Click OK, and then click Exit.
Note Because the Windows Installer CleanUp utility removes Windows Installer related registry settings and not the program files, make sure that you install your program in the same folder it was originally installed in to prevent duplication of files on your hard disk.
Clean boot your computer
To clean boot your computer, use the appropriate method for your
version of Microsoft Windows.

Microsoft Windows 98
Run the System Configuration Utility (Msconfig.exe) to perform a
clean boot. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK.
- Click the General tab, click Selective Startup, and then click to clear the following check boxes:
- Process Config.sys File
- Process Autoexec.bat File
- Process Winstart.bat File (if available)
- Process Win.ini File
- Load Startup Group Items
- Click OK. When you are prompted to restart the computer, do so.

Note To restore your original startup configuration, rerun the System
Configuration Utility (Msconfig.exe), click the
General tab, and then click
Normal Startup.
Microsoft Windows 95
- Restart the computer. When you see the "Starting Windows
95" message, press the F8 key, and then select Command Prompt
Only from the Startup menu.
- At the command prompt, type win, and
then press ENTER. Press and hold down the SHIFT key until the Windows startup
sequence is completed.
- Turn off any antivirus or disk tool programs that are
installed on the computer.

program. - Quit all running programs except Explorer and Systray. To
do this, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, click the program that you want to quit, and
then click End Task.
If you receive a message that states that the program is
busy or is not responding, click End Task again. - Repeat step 4 to quit all programs except Explorer and
Systray.

Note To restore your original Startup options, restart the computer
as usual, and then turn on any antivirus or disk tool programs installed on the
computer. For information about how to turn on these programs, see the printed

Reinstall the program
Insert the installation CD-ROM for the program that you want to
install into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then follow the instructions on
the screen to reinstall the program.
