FIX: ROLLBACK of Transaction May Abort Concurrently Active Transactions (295029)

This article was previously published under Q295029 SYMPTOMS Under heavy stress of aborted transactions, all editions of
SQL Server 2000 that are running on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (beta) may
abort concurrent transactions that have not been issued ROLLBACK statements.
CAUSE The transactions are propagated to the SQL child node, but
enlistment may fail within SQL Server. When this occurs, SQL Server closes the
ODBC socket connection from dllhost, which results in the following error
message: Error 10054 (connection reset by peer).
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest
service pack for SQL Server 2000. For additional information, click the

STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a
problem in SQL Server 2000.
This problem was first corrected in SQL Server 2000
Service Pack 1.
