SYMPTOMS

Under heavy stress of aborted transactions, all editions of SQL Server 2000 that are running on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (beta) may abort concurrent transactions that have not been issued ROLLBACK statements.

CAUSE

The transactions are propagated to the SQL child node, but enlistment may fail within SQL Server. When this occurs, SQL Server closes the ODBC socket connection from dllhost, which results in the following error message:
Error 10054 (connection reset by peer).
