Windows 2000 Fixes to Install Before You Install SharePoint Portal Server (295009)

NOTE: Install SharePoint Portal Server on a computer that is running Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 1 (SP1) or later.

If you are installing SharePoint Portal Server on a computer that is running Windows 2000 Server SP1:

1. Install Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
2. Install Windows 2000 Server SP1.
3. Install the Windows 2000 fixes that are described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles:

   286360 GetEffectiveRightsFromAcl() Function Causes "ERROR_NO_SUCH_DOMAIN" Error Message

   291340 Token Handle Leak in Lsass When Using Basic Authentication

4. Install SharePoint Portal Server.

If you are installing SharePoint Portal Server on a computer that is running Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 2 (SP2):

1. Install Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
2. Install Windows 2000 Server SP2.
3. Install the Windows 2000 fix that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

   291340 Token Handle Leak in Lsass When Using Basic Authentication

4. Install SharePoint Portal Server.
