FIX: SQL Server 2000 Setup Does Not Install Jet Drivers Help File (295002)

SYMPTOMS

When a Jet data source name (DSN) is created from the ODBC Administrator, the Help button may be disabled.

CAUSE

SQL Server 2000 setup does not install the Jet Drivers Help file, Odbcjet.chm.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for SQL Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in SQL Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 1.

MORE INFORMATION

This problem is not encountered on Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows Millennium Edition (Me), or Windows 98 SE, where Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) version 2.1 or 2.5 is already installed. This problem is encountered on Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT 4.0 where MDAC is not installed. The problem may not be encountered on Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT 4.0 if MDAC is correctly installed prior to the SQL Server 2000 installation.
