When you open a newsgroup post, you may notice that the status bar percentage total is greater than 100 percent when the download has completed.

Fluctuations in the speed of the Internet connection can cause differences in the reported size of the message versus the actual size of the message received. This behavior does not occur with every newsgroup, nor does it occur every time in the newsgroups where you notice this behavior.
