SYMPTOMS

When you click a link or you try to open a media stream, you may receive the following error message:
The specified stream type is not recognized.

CAUSE

You may receive this error message if the protocol for accessing the media is not supported in Windows Media Player for Mac. For example, the "rtsp://servername/filename" protocol is not supported.
