If downloading and running the utility does not resolve your
problem, follow these steps:
Remove the Program
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Double-click the program you want to remove.
- Follow the prompts on your screen. If prompted to restart
your system, DO NOT restart. Quit Setup.
Run the Picture It! Publishing Utility to Remove Registry Keys and Folders
Download and run the Picture It! Publishing 2001 Utility to
Remove Program Folders and Registry Keys appropriate to your version of
Windows.
Important If you installed Picture It! Publishing that ships in the
Microsoft Works Suite 2000 or Microsoft Works Suite 2001 package, to prevent a licensing agreement error message, follow these steps:
- Right-click Start, and then click Explore.
- Expand the Program Files folder.
- Expand the WorksBkUp folder.
- Click the Works Shared folder.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy.
- Expand the Common Files folder.
- Click the Microsoft Shared folder.
- On the Edit menu, click Paste.
- Click Yes to All to overwrite existing files and folders.
- Quit Windows Explorer.

Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
- To use the Windows CleanUp utility, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Windows Installer Clean Up.
- Select the program that you want to remove, and then click Remove.
- Click OK, and then click Exit.
Note Because the Windows Installer CleanUp utility removes Windows Installer related registry settings and not the program files, make sure that you install your program in the same folder it was originally installed in to prevent duplication of files on your hard disk.
Clean Boot Windows and Reinstall the Program
To clean boot the computer, use the method appropriate for your
version of Windows. After you clean boot your computer, reinstall your program.

Windows 98
Run the System Configuration Utility. To do this, follow these
steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK.
- Click the General tab. Click Selective Startup, and then click to clear the following check boxes:
- Process Config.sys File.
- Process Autoexec.bat File.
- Process Winstart.bat File (if available).
- Process Win.ini File.
- Load Startup Group Items.
- Click OK. When you are prompted to restart the computer, do so.

Note To restore your original startup configuration, rerun the System
Configuration Utility (msconfig), click the
General tab, and click
Normal Startup.
Windows 95
- Restart the computer. When you see the "Starting Windows
95" message, press the F8 key. On the Startup menu, click Command Prompt Only.
- At the command prompt, type win, and
then press ENTER. Press and hold down the SHIFT key until the Windows startup
sequence is completed.
- Turn off any antivirus or disk tool programs that are
installed on the computer.

program. - Quit all running programs except Explorer and Systray. To
do this, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, click the program that you want to quit, and
then click End Task.
If you receive a message stating that the program is
busy or not responding, click End Task again.
Repeat this step to quit all programs except
Explorer and Systray.
