SYMPTOMS

Sites that use the Digital Dashboard Resource Kit (DDRK) do not work with client computers that are running Windows 95. The service component downloads to the client computer, but fails to run. Attempts to manually install and register the component cause an error on the LoadLibrary function.

NOTE: Sites that use the DDRK work on client computers that run Microsoft Windows 98 and later.

RESOLUTION

The SQL Digital Dashboard sample contains version 2000.50.1061.2 of Msddsc.dll, which can be used by Windows 95 client computers.

To download the latest version of the DDRK, see the following Microsoft Web site: NOTE: This fix applies only to the SQL Digital Dashboard sample. There are currently no plans to update the File System and Microsoft Exchange Digital Dashboard samples.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This bug was corrected in version 2.2 of the Digital Dashboard Resource Kit.
