When you close Outlook 2001 for Mac, the following error message may occur:
Changes to the item could not be saved. The function cannot be performed because the message has been changed.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because you have attempted to edit a note that has been edited on another computer.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, press COMMAND (Apple) + OPTION + ESC to force quit Outlook 2001 for Mac.

When you edit a note in Outlook 2001 for Mac, the error message that is described in the "Symptoms" section of this article occurs. This error message occurs if you save, but do not close a note in Outlook for Mac, edit and close the note in Outlook for Microsoft Windows, and then try to edit and close the note in Outlook for Mac.
To avoid this error message in the future, do not use the Save command or press COMMAND (Apple) + S to save a note. Close the note to save it in your Notes, and then edit the note on another computer.
