OL2001: Extended Characters Import Improperly From Schedule+ (294633)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2001 for Mac

This article was previously published under Q294633

SYMPTOMS

When you import a Schedule+ file that was created on a Microsoft Windows computer to Outlook 2001 for Mac, extended characters may not import properly.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows operating environments utilize different extended character sets. As a result, the mapping of these extended characters on the two operating platforms may appear different or incorrect.

MORE INFORMATION

Extended characters are defined as characters that are not found on a standard QWERTY keyboard. Such characters may include those used in some non-English languages. The following are examples of extended characters:
  • Registered Trademark.
  • Copyright.
  • Characters that require a tilde (~).
  • Characters that require a caret (^).
