SYMPTOMS

When you synchronize an Outlook Address Book offline folders (.ost) file in Outlook 2001 for Mac, you may receive the following error message:
The client operation failed

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because network connectivity with the Microsoft Exchange Server has been interrupted.

MORE INFORMATION

If the error message that is described in the "Symptoms" section is persistent or is repetitive, you may want to verify that the connectivity between Outlook 2001 for Mac and the Exchange Server exists.
