SYMPTOMS

Right-clicking the Script node in the Document Outline bound to an Exchange or SQL Server Process Definition Code View causes the Microsoft Development Environment to stop responding (hang).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

Just clicking on the SCRIPT node does not cause this problem; the problem occurs only when you try to view the shortcut menu by right-clicking the node.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Open the Microsoft Development Environment.
  2. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Project.
  3. Under Templates, click Exchange Workflow Project. In the Location box, type a valid location, for example, http://ServerName/Public/ExchangeFolder, and then click OK.
  4. As soon as this folder is open, right-click <filename>.wdf in the Solution Explorer, and then click View Code.
  5. On the View menu, point to Other Windows, and then click Document Outline.
  6. Right-click the <SCRIPT> tag in the Document Outline window.
Note that an hourglass appears and that the Microsoft Development Environment no longer responds.
