- Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services
This article was previously published under Q294371
BUG #: 10748 (Plato7.x)
SYMPTOMS
After you upgrade from SQL Server OLAP Services version 7.0 to SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services version 8.0, you may not see any objects, such as cubes or dimensions, in Analysis Manager.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when your OLAP 7.0 repository is saved in Microsoft Repository format and then upgraded to Analysis Services 8.0.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (the Analysis Services Components - Sql2kasp1.exe). For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the

WORKAROUND
You may be able to work around this problem by recovering the lost metadata from the repository table called OLAPObjects_Bak. If you determine that OLAPObjects_Bak contains a clean copy of your repository, copy the records into the OLAPObjects table.
If the OLAPObjects_Bak table does not contain a clean copy of your repository, you can resort to your backup of the repository tables.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services version 8.0. This problem was first corrected in the Analysis Services Components of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 1.
