Some Locales for Language Groups Are Not Available in the Regional Options (294343)

SUMMARY

There are some language locales for Language Group IDs that are not installed by default and therefore are not available in the Regional Options dialog box. With these language locales, you can use different settings and character sets to configure other selections on the Regional tab, such as Input Locales, Numbers, Currency, Time and Date, that affect a particular country or region.

For example, the settings and character sets for the Polish language locale are not available until you click the Central Europe Language Group setting on the General tab in the Regional Options dialog box.

Note: You may need to insert the Windows 2000 CD-ROM during the following steps.

To add other language locales for Language Group IDs:
  1. In Control Panel, double-click Regional Settings.
  2. On the General tab, click to select the language check box of your choice. These are the Language Group IDs.
  3. Insert the Windows 2000 CD-ROM if you are prompted to do so.
  4. Restart the computer when you are prompted to do so.
  5. In Control Panel, double-click Regional Settings.
  6. On the Input Locales tab, click Add to select the character set of your choice.
  7. Click the locale of your choice in the Input locale box, click OK, click Apply, and then click OK.
  8. Restart your computer for the changes to take affect.
